Cypripedium parviflorum Salisbury, Trans. Linn. Soc. London, Bot. 1: 77, plate 2, fig. 2. 1791. - A very variable species, 30-70 cm tall, erect, with a creeping rhizome. Petals spirally twisted or undulate, linear-lanceolate, spotted and striped or suffused with darker reddish brown. Sepals greenish or yellowish often with darker markings; lip pale to deep yellow, 15–50 mm. - Distribution: United States and Canada.
